During the last twenty year or so, none of those carefully following the creative strategies of Željko Kipke, so different in their media but nevertheless all highly aware and coherent, could possibly have overlooked his periodically expressed and subversively handled treatment of, or rather, the reality checks made on the effectiveness of, the roles and purpose od the different institution that exist within Croatian society still dominantly moulded by transition.
Kipke is now expressing his most recent referencing of institutions, that is, of their architecture, in the multimedia production the exhibition Dismantled Structures, consisting of seven paintings on canvas, a short experimental fil and one photographic montage. Each new structure draws its energy from the foundation of the one formerly erected at its site, irrespectively of the fact if that is visible at first sight or not. Situationist have, for example, bridged old city cores of Paris an The Hague. The City-planning solution in Zagreb contained no such idea.
